The Plight of Egbema: A Call for Unity and Representation (Pidgin Version)
Date: 14th September 2025
E don reach time wey Egbema Kingdom go talk true and ask for wetin belong to am. Di neglect and way dem dey push Egbema people go one side don too much. Even though Egbema dey play big role for Niger Delta wahala and Nigeria development, we still dey suffer lack of appointment and position for key offices.
E clear say over 99% of our educated youths still dey house without work. Dis na big insult considering say na Egbema sons first carry fight for MEND time 2009 wey lead to di Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) wey everybody dey enjoy today. Our people make plenty sacrifice, some even lose life, but when dem dey share appointment, Egbema no dey see chance.
Big offices like Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), and Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) full with people from other Ijaw kingdoms, but Egbema sons and daughters dey left behind. Dis one no pure.
Look di recent UK master’s program wey Dennis Burutu Otuaro coordinate – we wan know how many Egbema pikin dem pick. Egbema no fit dey only for sacrifice, we suppose dey for enjoyment and opportunity too.
We dey call on all Egbema people make we unite, forget division, stand together and demand our right. Egbema na heart of Ijaw politics and we no go gree make dem sideline us again.
Call to Action
Egbema youths, leaders, chiefs, and elders – time don reach to demand fairness. Time don reach make we get appointment, scholarship, job and project wey go benefit our people. We no go dey quiet again.
