Introduction
The apex youth body of the Arogbo Ijaw ethnic nationality, Arogbo Ijaw Ibe Youth Council (AIIYC), has issued a strongly worded press statement reaffirming its constitutional mandate and condemning what it described as a calculated attempt by certain individuals to undermine the legitimacy of the Council.
Established in 2022 under a legally enacted Bye-law, the AIIYC stands as the recognized youth authority of Arogbo Kingdom. In its latest release, the Council reiterated its unwavering commitment to its four-year mandate and declared zero tolerance for acts of sabotage, misinformation, and unconstitutional interference.
Council Reaffirms Legitimacy Rooted in Law and Royal Approval
In the statement jointly signed by the Council’s leadership, including President Comr. Shoki Gbadia, Vice President Comr. Varnish Matthew, Speaker Comr. Naweri Gbebomini, and other executives, the AIIYC emphasized that its foundation is anchored in:
-
A duly enacted Bye-law,
-
A two-thirds super-majority of validated youth leaders across the kingdom,
-
And the sovereign approval of His Imperial Majesty, Pere (Barr.) Doubra Z. Egbunu (JP), Opukutu III, the Agadagba of Arogbo Ibe.
The Council stressed that His Imperial Majesty not only endorsed the Bye-law but personally scrutinized and ratified the document, which now stands deposited with critical governmental and non-governmental institutions. The Council’s Identity Cards also bear the official mandate confirming the validity of the current leadership.
A Four-Year Mandate That Cannot Be Contradicted
The AIIYC dismissed claims that the tenure of the Comrade Shoki Gbadia–led Executive and the Comrade Naweri Gbebomini–led Parliament has expired. According to the council:
-
The mandate commenced in August 2022,
-
And will elapse in August 2026,
-
Making any dissolution claims false, illegitimate, and malicious.
The Council described attempts to distort this timeline as “audacious falsehood” orchestrated by individuals desperate to rewrite history and illegally overthrow a constitutionally ordained structure.
Condemnation of Saboteurs and Propagandists
In a highly assertive tone, the AIIYC condemned a small group of individuals it referred to as “anarchist neophytes, parasitic saboteurs, and relevance-starved opportunists.”
These individuals, according to the Council:
-
Played no role in the establishment of AIIYC,
-
Contributed nothing to its legal formation,
-
And are now seeking to impose themselves through fabricated narratives and misinformation.
The Council noted that one self-acclaimed "youth president" recently attempted to influence a member of the AIIYC with a fraudulent claim that the executive had been dissolved. The Council described this act as criminally predetermined and treasonous.
Achievements of the AIIYC Since Establishment
The leadership outlined several accomplishments achieved under the current administration:
-
Securing and operationalizing the Arogbo Youth Secretariat,
-
Successfully hosting the inaugural landmark Youth Summit in 2022,
-
Acquiring a strategic parcel of land in Agadagba-Ama,
-
Laying the foundation for the permanent Youth Secretariat,
-
Gaining decisive support from renowned leader SHC (Dr.) Kingsley Kimibradigha Kuku, who donated ₦1 million toward the ongoing Secretariat project.
These milestones, the Council asserted, demonstrate its legitimacy, vibrancy, and commitment to youth empowerment.
A Firm Warning to Misinformation Agents
The AIIYC announced that it will not hesitate to pursue legal and administrative action against anyone found guilty of manufacturing or spreading falsehoods aimed at destabilizing the Council.
It demanded public answers to critical questions:
-
Who convened the kingdom during the Council’s formation?
-
Who provided the legitimacy, leadership, and financial sacrifices that birthed the AIIYC?
-
Who laid the foundation upon which today’s structure stands?
The statement emphasized that the answer is certainly not the individuals now seeking to impose themselves illegitimately.
Council Calls for Unity, Alignment, and Focus
In concluding, the AIIYC reaffirmed its commitment to peace, unity, and the progress of Arogbo Ijaw Ibe. It called on all well-meaning youths to align with the legitimate authority and reject the antics of impostors.
The Council assured the public that it remains undivided, laser-focused, and resolute in defending the integrity of the institution and the welfare of its constituency.
