A new page of history was written on Tuesday, 25th November 2025, as Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, witnessed one of its most distinguished academic events — the grand royal visit of His Royal Majesty, Obi Dr. Ambassador Fredrick Chukwuloe Egbunkonye II (JP), the Igwe of Aballa Kingdom, accompanied by Her Royal Majesty, Queen Aderemi Egbunkonye.

The monarch served as Royal Father of the Day, officially declaring open the institution’s 2nd Interdisciplinary Conference and Exhibition, themed “Creative Economy and Industrial Art: Unlocking Potentials for Nation Building.”


A Royal Call to Strengthen Polytechnic Education

In his address, HRM Obi Dr. Ambassador Fredrick Egbunkonye II emphasized that polytechnic education remains a cornerstone of any nation seeking innovative and industrial advancement. He called for greater investment in:

According to His Majesty:

The keynote address was delivered by the only Professor present, Professor Omonikebe Minarsia of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Faculty of Environmental Science.
