OGBINBIRI COMMUNITY CELEBRATES HISTORIC SECURITY MILESTONE WITH COMMISSIONING OF NEW POLICE STATION

By Dr. Odimientimi Agbedeyi

The gentle waves of the Benin River had barely settled at dawn when history stirred awake in Ogbinbiri, a vibrant and determined community in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Wednesday, November 26, 2025, will forever be remembered as a day when a people united by purpose finally saw their long-nurtured dream take physical form—the commissioning of the Ogbinbiri Police Station, a monumental step toward strengthened security and communal progress.

Under the calm yet firm leadership of the Ogbinbiri National Chairman, Hon. Benedict Miyebi, and his executive team, the community marked a milestone that echoed across Egbema Kingdom and beyond. This achievement was not the work of chance, nor the result of external intervention—it was wholly a community-driven vision, conceived, financed, and executed by the Ogbinbiri Federated Community itself.

From the National Vice Chairman Mr. Opusenibo Wilfred Kari, to the diligent Secretary Mr. Prosper Taylor, and the ever-present National PRO Hon. Siko Eyenmi, the executives worked as one unified body, ensuring that every detail of the project was pursued to completion. Their commitment became a blueprint for what strong leadership, cooperation, and shared determination can accomplish.

When the Area Commander of Sapele Division, CSP Bassey Victor, arrived to represent the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, he did not just bring official backing—he brought a strong message:
security thrives when communities and law enforcement work hand-in-hand.
His presence underscored the state's recognition of Ogbinbiri’s deliberate efforts to strengthen grassroots policing.

With the unveiling of the new police station, Ogbinbiri steps boldly into a new era. For decades, residents dreamed of improved security, quicker police response, and a safer environment for their families, businesses, and communal activities. Today, that dream no longer floats in conversation—it stands proudly in brick, steel, and purpose. The police station is now positioned to serve as a hub for community engagement, conflict prevention, and security operations within Egbema Kingdom.

The new station promises hope, stability, and a renewed sense of safety—values that will ripple across every home and every neighboring community. Mothers can sleep with less fear. Youths can move freely. And strangers passing through now encounter a community where law, order, and cooperation are actively upheld.

This project stands as a shining example of community strength, a reminder that the greatest transformations occur not when people wait for help, but when they rise to build the solutions they need.

A STANDING OVATION FOR OGBINBIRI LEADERSHIP

The Ogbinbiri National Chairman and his executive team deserve more than applause—they deserve a standing ovation. Not only were they physically present throughout the process, but they also shouldered the responsibility with humility and vision. Their leadership is now etched into the history of the community.

Special Commendations:

  • Hon. Benedict Miyebi – National Chairman

  • Mr. Opusenibo Wilfred Kari – National Vice Chairman

  • Mr. Prosper Taylor – National Secretary

  • Hon. Siko Eyenmi – National PRO

Their collective efforts ensured that the project transitioned from idea to reality without compromise. Ogbinbiri sees their sleepless nights. Ogbinbiri sees their sacrifice. And Ogbinbiri is proud.

A big congratulations to them all for a job beautifully and excellently done.

LOOKING AHEAD

With this new police station, Ogbinbiri has set a precedent for other communities across Delta State and Nigeria. It demonstrates that:

  • Security development is a shared responsibility.

  • Communities can lead their own transformation.

  • Partnership with law enforcement strengthens local peace efforts.

The community now looks toward a future where safer streets, improved living standards, and stable growth are no longer aspirations but realities already unfolding.
