Agadagba-Obon, Ondo State — Gallery Security Services Limited has successfully concluded a landmark three-day anniversary programme celebrating 13 years of dedicated service in maritime safety, land security, and community protection. The commemorative activities, held from 19–21 November 2025 at God’s Own Estate, Agadagba-Obon, focused on empowering coastal youth, supporting vulnerable families, and strengthening national security collaboration.

The programme attracted over 1,000 young people alongside senior government officials, security agencies, traditional rulers, and corporate partners. The event featured the Youth in Coastal Defence Summit 2025, a free medical outreach, and an awards ceremony honouring serving personnel and families of fallen officers.

Stakeholders described the initiative as one of the most community-rooted and strategic security engagements in the Niger Delta in recent years—an exemplary model for grassroots involvement in coastal and maritime safety.

Youth in Coastal Defence: A Turning Point

The summit addressed pressing issues such as oil bunkering, sea piracy, drug abuse, kidnapping, illegal dredging, environmental crime, and youth recruitment into criminal networks.

National security institutions—including the Nigerian Navy, NDLEA, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, and NSCDC—engaged participants on civic responsibility, national security ethics, and opportunities within the growing blue economy.

A youth participant, 19-year-old Ebigbamini Tanro, remarked:

“This summit showed us we are not powerless. We can protect our waterways, not destroy them. For the first time, I see a future where the youth of the creeks are part of the solution.”

Government and Leaders Call for Strengthened Local Security Structures

Chairman of the grand finale, former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, called for a restructuring of Nigeria’s security architecture:

“Security effectiveness begins with community trust and local intelligence. What Gallery Security Services has achieved in these waterways demonstrates that community-rooted models work.”

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, represented by the Deputy Governor, applauded the organisation’s impact and reaffirmed government readiness for partnership.

Delivering the keynote lecture, “From the Creeks of Niger Delta to Global Eminence,” former Presidential Amnesty Programme Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Kuku, described the organisation as a stabilising force:

“Without security in the creeks, there can be no sustainable development in the Niger Delta… Their work proves that when communities, government and security institutions collaborate, the waterways transform into engines of peace and economic growth.”

Humanitarian Outreach and Institutional Honour

Day Two featured a free medical outreach that provided screening, diagnosis, medication, and counselling to over 500 residents—including elderly citizens, women, and children.

The closing ceremony honoured fallen officers and rewarded dedicated personnel, reinforcing a culture of sacrifice, service, and institutional pride.

A Message of Commitment and the Road Ahead

Founder and Chairman, Senior High Chief Bibopere Ajube, outlined the organisation’s next strategic phase:

“We have secured waterways, protected livelihoods, and built trust. The next chapter is bigger—youth training, deeper inter-agency collaboration, better technology, and a maritime security system that leaves no community behind.”

The organisation announced plans to:

  • Institutionalise the Youth in Coastal Defence Summit as an annual event

  • Expand workforce training and youth recruitment

  • Strengthen surveillance technology and operational intelligence

  • Increase humanitarian and community-based support initiatives
